Shipping policy

At Modalità Vacanza, we work hard to ensure your pieces arrive safely and as quickly as possible.
This Shipping Policy applies to all orders placed through modalitavacanza.com.

We offer Express Shipping via Australia post for a flat rate of $12.70 AUD. 

Dispatch Times

Orders are dispatched Monday–Friday, excluding public holidays.

Standard Dispatch Timeframes:

In-stock items: 1–3 business days
New collection/launch periods: Please allow an additional 2–5 business days due to high volume
Sale periods : Allow 5–7 business days

Once dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking details.

Shipping Within Australia

We ship via Australia Post and trusted courier partners.

Rates & Timeframes:

• Express Shipping: 1–3 business days (metro areas)

Shipping timeframes are estimates only and may vary due to carrier delays, weather events, seasonal congestion or regional locations.

Pre-Orders & Presale Items

Pre-order items will ship according to the estimated delivery window shown at checkout.
This date is an estimate and may change due to unforeseen production delays.

Orders containing both in-stock and pre-order items will ship together unless otherwise arranged.

Address Accuracy

Please ensure your shipping address is correct at the time of purchase.
We are unable to guarantee changes once an order has been processed.

Modalità Vacanza is not responsible for:
• parcels delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer
• lost parcels due to incorrect or incomplete shipping information

Lost, Delayed or Stolen Parcels

Once your order is handed to the carrier, it becomes their responsibility.
Modalità Vacanza is not liable for:
• delays caused by carriers
• stolen parcels after delivery is marked as completed
• packages lost due to third-party handling

If your parcel is lost or delayed, we will assist you in lodging an investigation with the courier.

Risk of Damage

Risk passes to the customer once the parcel is delivered to the shipping address provided.
If a parcel is returned to us due to non-collection or incorrect address, reshipping fees apply.

Order Tracking

A tracking link will be emailed to you once your order has been dispatched.
Please allow up to 24 hours for tracking to become active.

Return Shipping for Exchanges & Refunds

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is assessed as faulty under Australian Consumer Law.

Shipping & Duties – International Customers

Important – Duties, Taxes & Import Fees (including USA)
For customers in the United States, United Kingdom, and all other international destinations beyond Australia and New Zealand:

  1. Customer Responsibility: You (the purchaser/recipient) are solely responsible for all duties, taxes, tariffs, fees, and import charges imposed by customs or other governmental authorities in your country. These charges are included at checkout as a separate line item. Checkout breaks down pricing of product, shipping and duties and taxes are all displayed.

    • The United States has changed its customs rules so that even low-value parcels that once entered duty-free are now subject to import duties, processing fees, and tariffs, with no de-minimis exemption. These charges must be paid before delivery and are the responsibility of the recipient.

    • Similar duties and fees may apply in other countries based on product classification, country of origin, and local tax laws.

  2. Customs Clearance: Customs agencies may delay delivery while assessing duties, or hold packages until fees are paid. Modalità Vacanza cannot guarantee delivery timeframes, release of goods from customs, or accuracy of assessed charges.

  3. No Liability for Duties or Delays: Modalità Vacanza, its affiliates, carriers, and agents are not liable for:

    • Duties, tariffs, taxes, or fees charged by customs authorities.

    • Customs delays, holds, or seizures.

    • Delivery exceptions related to unpaid fees.

  4. Declaration Accuracy: We complete customs documentation accurately, including declared values and country of origin, but we cannot control how customs authorities classify items or calculate duties. Classification systems (such as Harmonised System codes) vary by country and may impact calculated duties.

  5. Delivery Duties Paid (DDP) / Delivery Duties Unpaid (DDU): Orders are shipped under standard international terms which typically mean duties and taxes are not prepaid by Modalità Vacanza unless explicitly stated at checkout. You are responsible for and must pay any outstanding charges for goods to be released and delivered.

  6. Returned Packages: If customs returns a package to us due to unpaid duties/taxes or refusal to pay fees, the customer may be responsible for:

    • Return shipping costs.

    • Original shipping charges.

    • Any associated customs penalties or fees.

 

Destroyed Parcels Due to Unpaid Duties & Taxes

For international orders, any applicable duties, taxes, customs fees, or import charges are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated at checkout.

If customs authorities or the shipping carrier (including FedEx and DHL) contact the customer requesting payment of duties or additional information, it is the customer’s responsibility to respond promptly.

If:

  • The customer does not respond to FedEx/ DHL/ customs communications,

  • Duties or taxes remain unpaid, or

  • Required information is not provided within the timeframe specified by the carrier,

and the parcel is subsequently abandoned or destroyed by customs or FedEx or DHL, the order will not be eligible for refund, replacement, or store credit.

Once a parcel has been shipped, Vacanza has fulfilled its obligation to dispatch the goods. If the shipment is destroyed due to non-payment of duties or lack of response from the customer, this is considered a customer-side issue.

However, in the rare event that a parcel is returned to us (rather than destroyed), we are happy to:

  • Issue a store credit for the value of the items (excluding original shipping costs), or

  • Reship the order once additional shipping fees are paid.

We strongly encourage all international customers to monitor their email and SMS tracking notifications carefully after placing an order to avoid delays, additional fees, or destruction of goods

 

 

Shipping Timeframes & Carriers
International delivery times are estimates only and commence once the parcel has been handed to the carrier. Customs processing, tariffs, and government inspections are outside of our control and may extend delivery timeframes. Modalità Vacanza ships with FedEx and DHL Express.

Address Accuracy & Risk
Please ensure your shipping address is accurate. Once a parcel is dispatched, responsibility for it, including any duties or customs actions, rests with the customer.
